Manufactured Housing (not a mobile home)

Does anyone out there know anything about manufactured housing or
has any experience with a house built using manufactured housing.
I’m not referring to a mobile home, I’m referring to a house that
is built in a factory and then shipped to the site and assembled
together.  The finished product should look no different than a
stick built house.

I’m doing research on this to see if this is a good (and cheaper)
alternative to custom building a home on a lot.

Information that I would like to get is

        * Companies and/or factory that manufactures this type
of house in the Southern Calif. area.
        * Industry Assn. and or books that I can call or look
up to find companies that do this
        * Experiences that people have had in having a home
        built this way.
        * References that I should consult (articles, books, etc)

And any information that I need before I should even consider
using this method of building a custom house.

Thanks.

Real Estate IRA?

I have a few questions which I can’t seem to find the answers to.  I live in a
college town which has a pretty bad housing shortage.  Oddly enough, real
estate prices are pretty low right now and I am trying to buy some investment
properties with as small an out of pocket expense as possible.  My questions
are:  Can you use money which is currently in an IRA to put a downpayment on a
condo or a duplex which is to be used as an investment property?  If so, does
all the profit from the rent maintain its IRA status if, for example, I put it
back into a mutual fund (This is currently where my IRA is located)?  If all of
this is out of the question, are there other ways to avoid having to put down
the 30% downpayment my real estate agent says will be required?

Thanks,

Charley

Looking for RealEstate Network

I am looking for a possibly commercial network that lists either
investors or contractors looking for investors. And was wondering
if anyone had heard of something like that.

Tom Vu, anyone?

I’m not sure if this is the proper place for this, but I was wondering
if anyone knew anything about this guy.

There’s this Vietnamese guy that was on TV late last night here in
California hocking his seminars as a way to quick wealth in real estate.
He gives these seminars throughout the US and Canada, and I hear he’s
been parodied on Saturday Night Live. He deals in "distressed" housing.

Does anyone have any interesting information about him or his scheme?
Would anyone recommend his seminars?

Real Estate Computer Program

Well, here’s my plug.

This is aimed towards any Agents, Assistants, wanna-be
Agents, or people who like to keep track of the same things
real-estate do.

The program is called Howard and Friends.  You’ve probably
heard about it in real-estate circles, from your friends,
but that could be it.  We don’t really advertise.

Howard and Friends is THE easiest real-estate program to use,
and covers the widest area.  It keeps track of all Listings,
Closings, Prospects…  all the people you keep in contact
with.

It has a built in word processor (w/spellcheck & laser fonts)
and templates to print up postcards, forms, letters.. and many
other.  You can gather "groups" of people with just a few
keystrokes and print post-cards or letters to the entire
group of people.

There is a Daily Plan that keeps everything organized.  It has
a calendar to keep up with your future events…

Everything you need.

We’re working on modifications to
allow the program to link-up with MLS (Multiple Listing
Services), Mini-networks (printer port to printer port),
LAN services for a large office, and modem-data-transfer.

If you’re an agent, assistant, or somebody in between…

Give us a call!

This will be the only posting of the sorts, so you don’t
have to worry about it ever again.  Therefore, you don’t
have to send me anything.. K?

Toxic Waste Inspection on Land

I plan to purchase several acres of land in New Hampshire.
Before I complete the purchase, I’d like to be sure that nobody has dumped
or buried, or otherwise disposed of, toxic or hazardous waste on the land.
Otherwise, I’d be stuck with the cost of cleaning it up.

If I were buying a house, I could hire an inspection service to examine
the house, looking for flaws.  Is there a similar service for land, with
emphasis on hazardous material?

Financial, housing, tax etc. info.

We (I and 6-7 others so far) are trying to contact as
many people interested in financial planning/
education, buying a house, tax planning and other
such self-help activities.
A mailing list of interested people is proposed.

This partly means to share information and keep
in touch with each other and collectively
obtain otherwise expensive books/materials from
the Givens’ Org., so that the cost can be divided
between the sharing members and they can circulate
the materials and other benifits.

An example:
The Real Estate package #1 goes for $995 or so.
But there are many like me who though interested
        cannot afford it.
So if 8-10 people collectively bought the package
it would only cost $100 or so each, while everyone
can benifit by circulating the 5 volumes.

Also we can track seminars and notify people of
soon to be held events and meetings etc.

Call, Email me if interested,
Thanks                                  Neeraj Tulsian
